Green Day 21 Guns
US uses it when President dies, retires and assumes.
Billie Joe Armstrong, the vocal of Green Day says, "This song expresses someone that's fallen" and that expresses anti-war and President of Retiring of President Bush and Birth of President Obama.
And interestingly, this song has a relationship the title of their 8th album, "21 Century breakdown".
Stuff said, "This song is about surrendering to chaos, it's around you. Not giving up, It's like embrace in it. "

American Idiot by Green Day
This song was made by Billie Joe Armstrong, the main vocal of Green Day. He wrote the lyrics when ex-President George Bush began to attack Iraq. Billie criticizes him and America in the song strictly.
the lyrics of American Idiot
Don't wanna be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new mania.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck* agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along in the age of paranoia.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.
Don't wanna be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's calling out to idiot America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.
*redneck:a pejorative word that suggest conservative and ignorance white people

Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day
It is said that this song criticizes the Iraqnam. Its music video is a story of young boy and girl talked about their eternal love, but boy volunteered the army without talking his girlfriend.
She knew the truth and condemned him. Finally, he went to battlefield and girl waiting for his coming back.
Some people say September concerns 9.11, but it is a mystery.
the lyrics of it
summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
like my father's come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are
as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends
summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends
here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are
as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends
summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends

Imagine by John Lennon
the lyrics:
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say I'm
a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
This song calls for an usefulness of clash of religious or race and war. And lyrics is quite communism ( green letter part) so part of US banned on air.

Happy Xmas by John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Plastic Ono Band
This song was published in 1971. This year 2 big war begun. Pakistani army versus East Pakistan(Bangladesh) and Third India-Pakistan War. Whether John wrote this song from these wars or not is a mystery, but John must charge his wish that we should stop fighting each other. This is the famous song of Xmas song, but the lyrics of it contains John's anti-war emotion.
The lyrics of Happy Xmas
(Happy Xmas Kyoko
Happy Xmas Julian)
So this is Xmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Xmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Xmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Xmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Xmas
And what have we done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And so happy Xmas
We hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over, if you want it
War is over now
Happy Xmas

civil war by Guns 'N' Roses
Today, I want to introduce the anti-war music sung by various artists we learned the class.
First song is "Civil War" by Guns 'N' Roses. This is one of the most famous song of them.
The main massage of this song is "all civil war feeds rich and bury poor" and vocal Axl Rose questioned "What' so civil war, anyway?"
The lyrics of it ↓
"WHAT WE'VE GOT HERE IS FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE
SOME MEN YOU JUST CAN'T REACH...
SO, YOU GET WHAT WE HAD HERE LAST WEEK,
WHICH IS THE WAY HE WANTS IT!
WELL, HE GETS IT!
N' I DON'T LIKE IT ANY MORE THAN YOU MEN." (The line of Strother Martin from the film Cool Hand Luke)
(whistle)
Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before
Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before
My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars
D' you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land
And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
Ow, oh no, no, no, no, no
Look at the shoes you're filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more
My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars
"WE PRACTICE SELECTIVE ANNIHILATION OF MAYORS AND
GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FOR EXAMPLE TO CREATE A VACUUM
THEN WE FILL THAT VACUUM AS POPULAR WAR ADVANTAGE
PEACE IS CLOSER" (The word of Peruvian Guerilla General)
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no uh-oh-uh, no uh-oh, uh no
I don't need one more war
I don't need one more war
No, no, no, no uh-oh-uh, no uh-oh, uh no
WHAZ SO CIVIL 'BOUT WAR ANYWAY?
(whistle)
This song expresses the feeling of soldiers who were regarded as sacrifice. I colored green the most direct message to us from Guns 'N' Roses and colored blue the cabal of the war.
By the way this "civil war" suggests all of the war such as WW1 or Vietnam War.
